If only this were real!

In my searches, I found this fake movie trailer for Grand Theft Auto – which is a takeoff of the game. It has a great list of stars, and if it were a film, I would seriously consider going to see it! Enjoy!

Mun Prompt: Is romantic love something that is important to your muse? Why or why not?

Fanny / Faelyn has few illusions of romantic love. I think early on in her life she figured that love, intimacy in particular, was a means to an end. Surely she has had men whom she was involved with, but few she developed attachments to. Being either a member of various Courts, or a visitor to them, it was a good way to stay safe. Romantic love is something that always struck the other person – she could extricate herself far easier if it was the other party that had the attachment than if she was the one who was in love. To her, for the longest time, romantic love, was considered very much a weakness.

Fools…

When you post something with plant products in it, you had damned well better be putting the botanical name in there along with the ‘common name’. If you don’t I am going to call you on it, I promise! And if I have to do your resarch *for* you….I am going to respect you even less.

This is what sets the pros apart from the wannabe amateurs!

Recurring Dream

Some say that the Fae do not dream. But I assure you that we do. In fact, I have a recurring nightmare that is a reliving of something that actually happened. We were guests at the Seelie Court, and if you think that the French are pretentious asses as far as their ceremonies, their arrogance toward others, they are the most congenial beings on earth compared to the Seeile Fae.

My husband literally ate one of them.

Yes, the Prince Consort of the Fortunate Island, Monsieur le Comte de Rochefort, Sebastien – whom at that moment I was loath to admit that I even knew, let alone acknowledge as my spouse, actually ate the chief handmaiden to Queen of the Seelie Kingdoms as if he were eating Ortolan. Although, unlike the French custom of eating some hapless sparrow that had been fattened and drowned in brandy by a chef, Sebastien admitted to having strangled the poor annoying, manipulative, haughty, little shape-shifting bitch creature himself, roasting her and eating her. He then washed it all down with an entire bottle of the finest Seelie port and had the temerity to complain that it was nothing compared to any number of French wines ! Sometimes I wake up at night and can still hear the crunching of her bones amid the wails of tearful protest and shock that reverberated through the entire Seelie Kingdom. I assure you, had we not had such a specific treaty that had been drawn up between the Fortunate Island and the Seelie Kingdoms, I think that war would have been declared, or at the very least, I would have returned home a widow.

It took me years to live down that incident. Needless to say, the Prince Consort has been permanently dis-invited from ever being able to set foot into the Seelie Kingdoms ever again. Shortly after arriving home from our long diplomatic nightmare, Sebastien received letters of invitation and some of outright admiration for what he had done. Not even the Goblins, for all of their lack of manners, even by Unseelie standards, had dared to do something so incredibly heinous in the eyes of the Seelie. I think that my Unseelie kin rather looked at him as having proven himself as one of them in the ways of causing nightmares – and more than just a little bit of admiration.

Of course, he tells it a bit differently.

Mun prompt: Have you ever forced your muse into a storyline that you just

Absolutely.

Fanny / Faelyn from the moment I started writing her, definitely made it clear that she was not just  simply my puppet with which I could sort of stick her in any situation that I chose.   Instead, she decided early on what it was that she wanted to do and if I had made any plans that she disagreed with, that was just tough.  We have run into the situation in some of the muse communities on LJ with specific weekly prompts. If she thinks they are stupid or she doesn’t want to talk about that, there is absolutely nothing that I will be able to do to make her. Continue reading

Black

From the moment I met him, he was always clothed in black. Black for the colour of mourning, black as on the night that we met, black as a raven’s wing, black as pitch, black as the King piece on a chessboard, black as the eye patch that covered the wreck of an eye that he lost in a treacherous plot, black as the depths of the soul that all in France swore that he no longer had.

The Unseelie Fae, from whom I am descended, do not fear the dark, we do not fear black. We are these things and more. We are the ‘unblessed’ from the land of nightmares and the dark whispers upon the winds that few dare speak of even in the bright glare of day or even within a safe sanctuary. No one else but he could have understood what or who I was. None but I could fully appreciate the black that he wore and why.

But beneath the black garmenture or countenance that we both were cast in, there were hearts that beat like all others. Within the dark shells lay that which could yield and experience the ecstasies of the flesh, hearts that could feel and reflect love, souls that could become entwined like two vines of night blooming jasmine in a midnight garden.

Black concealed and insulated us, concealed our secrets, and was the basalt foundation upon which we had built our lives. And when he was killed, all was blackness. The midnight sun in my world had gone out. I wrapped myself in the dark cloth of mourning, consigned myself with in the blackness of sorrow and mourning and buried him with my own hands.
